How can I fit Pop-Tarts toaster pastries into my meal plan if I have Type I diabetes? - dietary exchange system calculator

I am new to the dietary exchange system (confusion about how it works). Can someone explain?

Here is the exchange system and carbohydrate --

15 g carbohydrate = 1 carb

Thus, if a soda can, say, a total of 42 g carbohydrate, a can of coke for 3 carbohydrates (such as decimal places could be calculated, but for simplicity I use) be integers. Or if you Poptart 35g per serving, and a package of 2 parts would be a package with 5 carbohydrate (35g x 2 = 70 g; 70/15 ~ 5). Hang on, which are second nature in no time.

Note: The total amount of carbohydrates have, carbohydrates from potatoes, brownie, frosted glass, watermelon, apples, ice cream, etc., are all equal. The system breaks down technically in fruit and milk, etc., but I'll just stay with the carbs and there.

Because knowing the protein, fat / I've never counted, you do not.

Insulin is up to you, the carbohydrate-insulin ratio. In general, some 1:1, 1 unit of insulin for 1 carbohydrate exchange. This means that, if you have a regular soda you drink 3 units to cover the 3 bags. (The ratio can vary, ask your doc if you do not & # 039, T-course).

I will take carbs and have to say x amount of carbohydrate, m, according to all meals and Id, that one of those take about 3 / 4 the amount I m loud and clear, which is not something we eat often.

Question 1: Why is unduly pressure on the system is already broken. Stick with foods that are good for you. Pop Tarts are sugar and empty carbohydrates.
